Dawn of the Forsaken follows Lianna, a young Fae female who was left in the human world by her mother as a baby when a darkness comes in search of her, wanting her and her powers. As she learns more about her heritage and the magic she possesses, she receives a letter from her birth father, the King of the Fae Realm, demanding she comes home. Her rare magic is needed to protect them from the darkness that is once again overtaking the realm, in search of Lianna.

But how much of what she is told is the truth? Lianna must embrace the magic that has been pushed away for her entire life and step into the power she was born to have.

This book deals with hidden powers, betrayal, loss of home, a chosen one aspect, found family, fated mates, and lovers to enemies. It's intended for readers 18+, and includes sexual instances, mentions of rape, strong language, violence, and death.

Kyle Michelle is the author of Dawn of the Forsaken. It's my debut novel and the first book in the Lost Fae Lineage series.

The book was first written in 2023, and published in May of 2025.

I've been writing stories ever since I can remember. The earliest memories I have of writing is being in elementary school and having an entire composition notebook filled with short stories. It was light purple and had newspaper clippings of things I liked clued to the front.

As I got older, the silly stories started to become more real but they lived, half finished, in my computer and never became anything more.

When I had my daughter in 2019, everything was pushed aside to the most important job I've ever had, being a mom. But, when COVID started, I rediscovered my love of reading and fantasy, and finally, in 2023, I started seriously writing my first novel, Dawn of the Forsaken. which was first called, The Forsaken Princess. After a long year of writing, edits, promoting, and ARC readers, my first ever novel is ready to be published in May 2025.

Absolutely. Dawn of the Forsaken is book one of my Lost Fae Lineage series and I already have the rest of that series planned out.

I also have another series I've been planning, but that's still in the works and still has a while to go.

Honestly, the process of self-publishing just sounded easier to me when I decided I definitely wanted my story to be published for the world to see. For now, being self-published was the better choice for me.

Don't get me wrong, my dream is to be picked up by a traditional publisher, but that's just a dream...for now.
